My dad called me a parasite and kicked me out of the penthouse i paid for

At call twenty-six, Logan accused me of destroying his company. Madison left a voicemail saying a photographer was scheduled and demanded to know whether I understood how “unprofessional” I was making her look.

Not one message contained the words, “I’m sorry.”

I silenced my phone and slept for three hours. When I woke, forty-two missed calls waited on the screen.

Management allowed them to retrieve Dad’s property that afternoon. Inside the penthouse, they found almost everything belonging to me gone. Dad discovered the financial summary on his desk and sent me a photograph of it.

“How could you humiliate me like this?”

I did not respond.

The next forty-eight hours cost them thousands in hotels, storage, movers, parking, and deposits. Dad expected Logan to pay half.

Logan’s business account held less than five hundred dollars.

That was when the messages changed.

Dad wrote, “I may have spoken harshly.” An hour later came, “Your mother would want you to help.” Then: “I cannot believe my daughter would leave her father without a home.”

He had shown no concern about where I would sleep when he gave me less than a day to disappear.

On the second morning, they tried to qualify for the penthouse themselves. Dad’s pension did not meet the income requirement. Logan submitted projected business revenue instead of verified income. Madison refused to apply because she did not want a credit inquiry.

It did not matter anyway. The corporate client had already reserved the unit.

Call seventy-three arrived just before noon.

Dad’s voicemail sounded smaller than I had ever heard him. “Evelyn, where are you? Please help. The hotel says we need to leave tomorrow. Logan doesn’t have the money he said he had. I can’t get approved alone. Please call me.”
